Tana Studio ("we", "our", "us") operates the tana website and Tana Studio desktop application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a tana account, we collect your email address, username, and optionally your Discord identity if you authenticate via Discord OAuth.

Tana Studio — Local Data

Tana Studio is a desktop application that processes video files locally on your device. Video files, project files, and AI-generated subtitles are stored on your local machine only and are never uploaded to our servers.

Third-Party OAuth Tokens

When you connect a third-party account (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) to Tana Studio, the resulting OAuth access tokens are encrypted using your operating system's secure storage and stored locally on your device only. These tokens are never transmitted to Tana servers.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage analytics (e.g., feature usage frequency, crash reports) to improve the application. This data does not include personal information or video content.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve Tana services and Tana Studio
• To authenticate you and maintain your account session
• To upload content to third-party platforms on your explicit request
• To diagnose technical issues and improve application stability
• To communicate service updates when necessary

4. Third-Party Platforms

Tana Studio integrates with the following platforms at your direction:

• TikTok — via TikTok Login Kit and Content Posting API. We request only video.publish and video.upload scopes to enable direct video publishing.
• YouTube — via Google OAuth 2.0. We request only the minimum scopes required to upload videos to your YouTube channel.
• Instagram / Facebook — via Meta OAuth. We request only the permissions needed to publish Reels to your connected account.

You may revoke these connections at any time from within Tana Studio or directly from each platform's account settings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with any third party except:

• When required by law or in response to valid legal process
• With the platform APIs you explicitly authorize solely for the purpose of completing your requested upload

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. OAuth tokens stored locally by Tana Studio can be removed by disconnecting accounts within the app.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. OAuth tokens in Tana Studio are encrypted using OS-level secure storage (Electron safeStorage API). Sensitive credentials are never stored in plain text.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updated policy.
